Pillows, cupcakes & Hearts...

I haven't posted for a while.. I've been busy making things..

After my butterfly pillow, I thought that I could make some more, it was my Nan's birthday on Thursday so I made her a pillow, she loves her Garden so i kind of tried to put aspects of her garden into her pillow...(I wasn't as pleased with it as I was with the butterfly one)

I have also been busy making a job lot of cupcakes and hearts as I need a fair bit of stock if I'm going to set up a stall somewhere!

Also bought some new bits and pieces so looking forward to their arrival!!

Butterfly pillow...

I've spent most of my time recently looking at all the other creative blogs that are out there and have got some massive inspiration from all you lovely crafty people out there!!

On Sunday night I got stuck into making a pillow.. (this was a mixture of inspiration from Bugs and Fishes)

However I added my own little twist, I used the same butterfly template from Bugs and Fishes and the button idea also from Bugs and Fishes but from her ring pillow but added my own little twists with sequins and a couple of diamanté s...

This was placing my buttons... I was going slightly button crazy!! Ohh the buttons are from the FeltFairy

Ok so the finished product...

Let me know what you think, or if you have any ideas of improvement or suggestions!

I plan to make another pillow tonight, the one I'm going to make tonight is going to be a garden theme and is going to be for my Nan as it is her birthday soon and she does like a bit of gardening!!

Sunday's Stitching update..

Wow I have been slightly busy the end of this week with one thing and another and stitching some cool stuff!

So from where I left off, Wednesday wasn't productive at all my cherry sewing box didn't even get a look in  :(

Thursday I was on a misson as a couple of girls at work asked for some hearts so I was busy making them they actually look really cool!!

Last night I helped two girls (not random girls, close family friends) make a gingerbread man each, they are 8 and 10 and was rather impressed with stuff that I had made. It was really nice to see what ideas younger people have and I was actually really impressed with their sewing skills! (I'm kicking myself now though for not taking a photo of what they made) Also felt quite bad as their mum has had to take them hobby craft today to as I've got them in a creative mood :s So hopefully she didnt spend too much money in there!!

Also made another cool cupcake this time its a chocolate one haha

Also I completed my very own Stanley... I am very proud of him, however I think my next one will be a lot neater and stuffed more evenly!

Shrove Tuesday...

Last night was Shrove Tuesday, my brother asked why we actually have Pancake day and as sad as it is I had to google the answer (don't you just love a bit of google)
So for those of you who don't know why its celebrated the day before ash Wednesday(today) and is therefore the final day before the commencement of Lent a Christian festival leading up to Easter.
Lent is a time of abstinence, of giving things up. So Shrove Tuesday is the last chance to indulge yourself, and to use up the foods that aren't allowed in Lent. Pancakes are eaten on this day because they contain fat, butter and eggs which were forbidden during lent! - So now you know!!

Any way after the pancakes..(above)

I got down to my creative stuff, I finished off all my hearts that I started making the night before and tied three together and hung it on my door...

But then decided that I didn't like it there, so I moved it to my light switch...

After making this I then made my brother a star, stuffed with Rosemary as it actually smells like lavender and he reckoned he had a bunged up nose and this would help him! Stitching isn't great as I was rushed to make it before his bed time haha!

Then I set myself a ten minute task.. I decided to make an Easter bag/pouch, in fairness it actually took about thirteen to finish and isn't perfect but its an idea, something to work on - I'm thinking of adding ribbon as straps and putting a couple of eggs in for my little sister for Easter..

Also had a little twist on my cupcakes last night (I really did have a creative roll!!)

Cupcake doorstop ideas... Help!?

Ok so when I first started out with the creative thing Mum decided that she was also creative!? However she often starts things and gets bored..

So she had high hopes and big ambitions of making a cup cake door stop, however stopped halfway through!

I have now decided to finish it for her (as I would quite like a cupcake doorstop for my bedroom door) I've added pics below, I'm just wondering if anybody has any tips, suggestions or help!? - Thanks is advance!!

Monday's creativeness...

I was sat in the front room with the family and I decided that it was time to make something out of my special felt(the felt that costs a little bit more as it has a pattern) So I told Dad that I wanted a heart template printed(as he was on the pc) I only had to ask 3 times, but once he done it and Id asked for a bigger size... I was soon cutting it out and then cutting my felt out... As mum said to me that I could make more if I did the back a different colour, so I cut out six pink and white polka dot hearts from an a4 sheet and six white with glitter hearts... I then sewed a white and silver ribbon on to the white sides...

I then sewed up the seams with a blanket stitch and stuffed the first one with stuffing that had been soaked in rosemary oil since Saturday, so now smells lovely - Mum was really impressed as the first one I gave to her. I'm not a massive fan of this smell so the second one I stuffed with just stuffing and hung on my door handle, very impressed...

I didn't get a chance to sew up the other four but I'm planning on doing that tonight...

I've also got red polka dot felt and a zebra print felt which I can't think of something pretty enough to use it for... So any ideas are much appreciated!

Easter Makes...

As I had such a mission to create all my gingerbread men for Christmas, I decided to start thinking about occasions a lot further in advance in preperation..

So first of all I made some egg cosies...

These were the first attempt, mine was the rabbit and my friend made the chicken..

I then bought some googly eyes so the next lot had googly eyes...

These ones are for sale on ebay

I also thought that people may like stuffed easter eggs, as I thought this would be a better idea than chocolate!? Not sure how people feel about this haha These are also for sale on ebay however have not got a lot of interest.. maybe I should give them to people with chocolate eggs inside!? Ohh decisions decisions..

Comment if you have any tips on different ideas for Easter felt creations...

New Bedroom...

Last week I decorated my bedroom and am really pleased with the finished look, so I thought I would share it with you as it is a part of being creative..

I painted two walls pretty pink, one wall a natural hessein and wallpapered one wall and the bottom of my bed with some outrageous blue wallpaper - I know sounds mental right!? Everybody I explain it to turns there nose up!

But look at the pictures and let me know what you think..

Also added my own crystal decorations on the edge of my blind and around my lampshade!

Rainy Day Creations...

Here is one of my rainy day creations....

I was bored popped along to Hobby Craft and bought some bird house which I could paint, I bought three but have only painted two soo far. I will add a pic of the third one once its looking all pretty.

I gave the green and yellow one to my Nan last night who was very pleased, she dosen't seem to think its big enough for a bird so is thinking of putting it in her porch!!

The Sock Cow...

Since I thoroughly enjoy the sock monkey and it was his fault that I got into all this in the first place I ordered some sock creatures for me and my family to make so a couple of weeks ago, I took on the Sock Cow!

I was rather impressed with him, he was a massive improvement on the sock monkey especially the mouth!!

Let me know what you think, or if you have made a sock cow leave a link so I can see how he was created differently..

But here is mine...
